From 1st of July, 2019, we have new rules regarding marketing claims on cosmetics packaging and their descriptions - on leaflets, websites and online stores. In Poland, the interpretation of the regulation is being dealt, among others, by Polish Union of the Cosmetics Industry. Colway International, as a member of the Polish Union of the Cosmetics Industry, applies to the guidelines of this organization.

The most important issue, for Colway International Partners, is the application of the new regulations to statements regarding a group of substances that have a bad press and are controversial, but have been approved for use in cosmetic products as safe.

The following statements are not allowed and have to be removed from the cosmetics descriptions on your own websites.

What declarations should be strictly removed from the author's websites, blogs and online stores before 1st of July 2019?

"Does not contain parabens"

Some parabens are safe when used in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009. Considering the fact that cosmetic products should be safe, the statement "does not contain parabens" is not allowed because it depicts a whole group of parabens in a bad light.

"Does not contain SLS"

As above.

"Does not contain fluorine"

Fluorine in the right doses has been authorized as a safe substance, despite the bad press and research showing this component of the paste in a new light.

"Does not contain preservatives"

The declaration is not permitted if there is a natural preservative in the product. Example: in the Native Collagen Pure lactic acid plays the role of the preservative.

"Hypoallergenic"

The statement does not guarantee complete absence of risk of allergic reactions. The product should not give the impression that it gives such a guarantee, the more so if we do not have adequate research confirming the hypo allergenicity of the cosmetic.

Leaflets, product packaging and your stores on the colwayinternational.com domain will be adjusted to the regulations before the 1st of July 2019. Remember to check the product descriptions carefully if you run your own web shop in addition to the colwayinternational.com store!
